Geography

Our year-round pleasant tropical climate, with temperatures averaging 78 degrees Fahrenheit, the amazing geographical diversity, and the wonderful white sandy beaches, have made it possible for the Dominican Republic to become a major tourist destination.

One of the main traits of the Dominican Republic is the friendly character of its people, inherited from the unique blend of Spanish, native Taino Indian, African and French cultures. The significant presence of descendants from Spain, Lebanon, Italy, China and the United States of North America, contribute to enrich our cultural variety.

The official language of the Dominican Republic is Spanish.

The roman Catholic Church is the predominant religion among the population.
